An unexpectedly hard shot by Hampus Lindgren in the 4th minute of play forced FC Universitatea Cluj's goalkeeper Iacob Cernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Tudor Chiose reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iacob Cernat. The goal made the score 1-0. Fellipe Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Pascal Massenhove in the 17th minute really tested Iacob Cernat's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jan Popowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grigore Bălcescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Fellipe Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Popowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Emilian Apolzan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MINERUL BALAN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Iacob Cernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampus Lindgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th match minute, FC Universitatea Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giannis Kalomiris to maneuver through the defense. Tudor Chiose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iacob Cernat was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emilian Apolzan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. Iacob Cernat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Apolzan in the 40th minute of play. Fellipe Guedes charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fellipe Guedes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MINERUL BALAN booed when FC Universitatea Cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hampus Lindgren kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iacob Cernat. That made the score 4-0 in the 43 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giannis Kalomiris was the one to do the kick off. Iacob Cernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampus Lindgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tudor Chiose struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Iacob Cernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MINERUL BALAN. After 61 minutes of play, MINERUL BALAN's Emilian Apolzan made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iacob Cernat was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, MINERUL BALAN's Jan Popowicz got control of the ball when Fellipe Guedes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fellipe Guedes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Jan Popowicz made a huge save. Liviu Baștină recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iacob Cernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampus Lindgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liviu Baștină fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Cernat having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Emilian Apolzan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MINERUL BALAN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Pascal Massenhove hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Jan Popowicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waclaw Markowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute Emilian Apolzan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Cernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, MINERUL BALAN's goal looked a bit too open when Waclaw Markowski came free, but Jan Popowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MINERUL BALAN fully deserved thier win.
