Valer Onișoru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Oniga, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silver Phoenix in the 29th minute of play forced Minerul Baia Mare's goalkeeper Calistrat Pascaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valer Onișoru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrés Silvera in the 31st minute of the match. Valer Onișoru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrés Silvera, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After the first half Minerul Baia Mare were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Toader Oniga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minerul Baia Mare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toader Oniga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cazimir Adomniței could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Valer Onișoru made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliodor Puiu got free with Valer Onișoru in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 minutes, Iulian Stroe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca and the Minerul Baia Mare players grew even worse after the yellow card. Iulian Stroe kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. It was beautiful to see Minerul Baia Mare's Ionică Nacu in action when he in the 60th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Adomniței in the 61st minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Valer Onișoru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Adomniței in the 61st minute of play. Cazimir Adomniței received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valer Onișoru came out and tried to block the shot, but Cazimir Adomniței slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 65th minute. Valer Onișoru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cazimir Adomniței in the 69th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Octavian Chiriacescu during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Octavian Chiriacescu hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When Minerul Baia Mare's Cazimir Adomniței in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Valer Onișoru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute Toader Oniga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Onișoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavian Chiriacescu, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cazimir Adomniței recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
