The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, FC Universitatea Cluj's Giannis Kalomiris got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Marin Covrig could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Iacob Cernat however easily saved by the left post. Peppe Mascara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Iacob Cernat made a huge save. Iustin Radu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan-Joost Werner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Guedes in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Iustin Radu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Peppe Mascara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iacob Cernat. The goal made the score 1-0. Marin Covrig who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Iacob Cernat when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Iacob Cernat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavril Bucur in the 29th minute of play. Iacob Cernat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peppe Mascara went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After 34 played minutes FC Universitatea Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Guedes. Peppe Mascara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Cernat having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavril Bucur in the 46th minute of play forced FC Universitatea Cluj's goalkeeper Iacob Cernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to FC Universitatea Cluj getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Giannis Kalomiris hit a great ball. During the 63rd minute of the match Giannis Kalomiris completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Giannis Kalomiris a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 64th match minute, FC Universitatea Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giannis Kalomiris to maneuver through the defense. Iustin Radu kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Fellipe Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iacob Cernat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
