In the 9th minute of the match UNITED Kaunas got a corner. SŪDUVIS FK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raimundas Šernas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Redas Baltūsis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SŪDUVIS FK's Epifanío Minden did a great save. Klemensas Bazaras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanío Minden having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Stanislav Chermenskiy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Epifanío Minden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Klemensas Bazaras's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Klemensas Bazaras in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanío Minden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klemensas Bazaras in the 17th minute of play forced SŪDUVIS FK's goalkeeper Epifanío Minden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klemensas Bazaras took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Epifanío Minden. Epifanío Minden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Stanislav Chermenskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Raimondas Kuodys made a huge save. Epifanío Minden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klemensas Bazaras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Epifanío Minden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundas Šernas in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, UNITED Kaunas's Stanislovas Vaitiekus seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Stanislovas Vaitiekus the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of UNITED Kaunas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stanislovas Vaitiekus had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 34th minute, one of UNITED Kaunas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UNITED Kaunas. Raimondas Kuodys went to the wrong direction when Sikstas Stanišauskas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Miglius Petkus charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miglius Petkus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th match minute, SŪDUVIS FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miglius Petkus to maneuver through the defense. When Kastytis Norkūnas came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the UNITED Kaunas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kastytis Norkūnas couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, UNITED Kaunas's goalkeeper Raimondas Kuodys had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stanislav Chermenskiy. In the 44th minute, Osvaldas Jašinskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stanislav Chermenskiy struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Raimondas Kuodys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SŪDUVIS FK. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stanislav Chermenskiy to strike the kick off in the second half. Raimondas Kuodys stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stanislav Chermenskiy's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Kastytis Norkūnas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanío Minden having to interfere. Kastytis Norkūnas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Epifanío Minden having to make a save. UNITED Kaunas made a substitution. Dominykas Grigutis replaced Aistis Žilevičius. Kastytis Norkūnas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanío Minden having to interfere. Raimondas Kuodys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanislav Chermenskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Kastytis Norkūnas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanío Minden having to interfere. If Kastytis Norkūnas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kastytis Norkūnas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Epifanío Minden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kastytis Norkūnas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Epifanío Minden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SŪDUVIS FK's Epifanío Minden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save SŪDUVIS FK from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, UNITED Kaunas's goal looked a bit too open when Stanislav Chermenskiy came free, but Raimondas Kuodys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute Redas Baltūsis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanío Minden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jurgis Stanevičius's late challenge caught a SŪDUVIS FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jurgis Stanevičius helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes UNITED Kaunas got a freekick which was hit by Kastytis Norkūnas. The audience was convinced that Stanislav Chermenskiy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimondas Kuodys was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
