But to his dismay, Kyriakos Kanellopoulos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With 6 minutes on the clock, Stelios Botilias commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Panafpliakos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Thrylos FC:s goal. If Nontas Mouratos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nontas Mouratos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 minutes, Apostolis Iordanis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panafpliakos FC and the Thrylos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Panafpliakos FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Apostolis Iordanis hit a great ball. With a little luck, Panafpliakos FC's Miltos Seichanidis got control of the ball when Vaggelis Giannopoulatos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonidas Kladas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nontas Mouratos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Soulis Spyridakos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miltos Seichanidis having to make a save. Miltos Seichanidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Soulis Spyridakos in the 27th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Nontas Mouratos put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Leonidas Kladas. Nontas Mouratos struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Leonidas Kladas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panafpliakos FC. Leonidas Kladas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nontas Mouratos went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Giorgos Vrontakis hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Leonidas Kladas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nontas Mouratos in the 61st minute. Soulis Spyridakos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Miltos Seichanidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nontas Mouratos came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Panafpliakos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nontas Mouratos couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Vaggelis Giannopoulatos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thrylos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vaggelis Giannopoulatos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miltos Seichanidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
