Nontas Mouratos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stergios Topalidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyriakos Kanellopoulos in the 7th minute of play. Paris Zorbadelis's late challenge caught a Panafpliakos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paris Zorbadelis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, City fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paris Zorbadelis to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to City fc getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Prokopis Traganitis hit a great ball. Chrisostomos Prikourakis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stergios Topalidis. City fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Panafpliakos FC's Nontas Mouratos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stergios Topalidis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Kyriakos Kanellopoulos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stergios Topalidis. That made the score 3-0 in the 32 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyriakos Kanellopoulos in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stergios Topalidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stergios Topalidis stood somewhat misplaced when Kyriakos Kanellopoulos came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 40 minute. After a rather tough play, Panafpliakos FC's Stavros Tsakanikas got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Stelios Skapaneas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stelios Skapaneas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Miltos Seichanidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Kyriakos Kanellopoulos made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nontas Mouratos in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stergios Topalidis saved City fc from getting behind. 5-0 became the score in the 57th minute when Kyriakos Kanellopoulos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nontas Mouratos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stergios Topalidis having to interfere. Kyriakos Kanellopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Stergios Topalidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nontas Mouratos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stergios Topalidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyriakos Kanellopoulos in the 69th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Nontas Mouratos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panafpliakos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nontas Mouratos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stergios Topalidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. City fc's Stergios Topalidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyriakos Kanellopoulos in the 78th minute of play. When Panafpliakos FC's Kyriakos Kanellopoulos in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye City fc's goalie prevented a goal. Nontas Mouratos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paris Zorbadelis kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Chrisostomos Prikourakis sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and City fc's Stergios Topalidis didn't even have to move. A collision led to City fc getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Paris Zorbadelis hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Nontas Mouratos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stergios Topalidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. City fc's Antonis Velakos got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Panafpliakos FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
