The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Fowler in the 4th minute of play forced Epirus Celtics's goalkeeper Vassilis Xanthos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epirus Celtics's Vassilis Xanthos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 조 정 in the 5th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, AIAS FC's Robbie Fowler made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vassilis Xanthos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gigel Encuțu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefanos Karanastasis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Vassilis Xanthos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Notis Liadelis went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Vassilis Xanthos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 조 정, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. A collision led to Epirus Celtics getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Michalis Galanis hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Epirus Celtics's goal looked a bit too open when Notis Liadelis came free, but Vassilis Xanthos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AIAS FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
