Panionios MK's Antonis Linardakis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nikiforos Fragis in the 14 minute of the game. In the 15th minute Valerios Voutsas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Karl-Heinz Schneider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panionios MK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Valerios Voutsas scored to the left of an out of position Alketas Bourouselos, making the score, 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Saronida FC's Karl-Heinz Schneider sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alketas Bourouselos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Laurențiu Susara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. When Themos Leontiadis came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Panionios MK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Themos Leontiadis couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute Themos Leontiadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurențiu Susara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saronida FC's Valerios Voutsas got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saronida FC's Jânio Medeiros was substituted for Valerios Voutsas. Alketas Bourouselos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Heinz Schneider in the 61st minute of the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Jânio Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saronida FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Allan Corrigan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panionios MK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Panionios MK's Themos Leontiadis got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Panionios MK defense, Jânio Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alketas Bourouselos. The Panionios MK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alketas Bourouselos should have stopped the shot. Alketas Bourouselos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Heinz Schneider, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the Panionios MK defense, Jânio Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alketas Bourouselos. The Panionios MK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alketas Bourouselos should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Medeiros in the 87th minute of play forced Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Jânio Medeiros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Nikiforos Fragis threw the ball into play from the sideline. Panionios MK's Fondas Giannakakis quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Laurențiu Susara made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Fanis Salepis sent off a good shot on target.
