But to his dismay, Themos Leontiadis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Julio Gómez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Salepis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Fanis Salepis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panionios MK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Julio Gómez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ntinos Zoubadellis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alketas Bourouselos was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Themos Leontiadis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Gómez having to make a save. Julio Gómez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 28th minute of play. Themos Leontiadis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Gómez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute Themos Leontiadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ntinos Zoubadellis to make the kick off. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panionios MK's goalkeeper Alketas Bourouselos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
