Apoel Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vladislav Sokolenko the free kick. A collision led to Apoel Stars getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Kheiron Balouris hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Dimosthenis Horiatis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Apoel Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Thoralf Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oileus Papadakos in the 36th minute of play. Apoel Stars's Kheiron Balouris quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lykos Kapsimalles, made in the 39th minute of the game. Kheiron Balouris hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Leukippos Zahakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thrinakie Pagonis in the 41st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dimosthenis Horiatis in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leukippos Zahakis saved Vladislav Sokolenko from getting behind. Thrinakie Pagonis charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thrinakie Pagonis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tantalos Milionis made a kick off. When Juan-Carlos Dios came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Apoel Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan-Carlos Dios couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the match, Vladislav Sokolenko's goal looked a bit too open when Dimosthenis Horiatis came free, but Leukippos Zahakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leukippos Zahakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimosthenis Horiatis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Dimosthenis Horiatis notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Vladislav Sokolenko's Leukippos Zahakis. Leukippos Zahakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vladislav Sokolenko's Leukippos Zahakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan-Carlos Dios in the 58th minute of play.
