Ekinözü's Mirza Başat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Battal Gazi İltay in the 13th minute of play. Yetkin Uğuralp's late challenge caught a Farende's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute Semi Saik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vehdi Sezgi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Battal Gazi İltay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ali Numan Settar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mirza Başat having to interfere. After 64 minutes of play Farende's Sezgin Genişyürek was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Ekinözü booed when Farende was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sezgin Genişyürek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Semi Saik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ekinözü's supporters rose to their feet, but Yaser Uçanay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vehdi Sezgi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yaser Uçanay blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vehdi Sezgi having to make a save. Battal Gazi İltay's late challenge caught a Ekinözü's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Yaser Uçanay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vehdi Sezgi was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Ekinözü's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
