The referee showed Rafet Turkay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 6 minutes into the match, İZMİT SK's Halil Can Gezer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Aktan İltemur made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Berkant Başaran sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feyzullay Necati in the 15th minute of play forced İZMİT SK's goalkeeper Nuratay Akşit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the İZMİT SK defense, Oğuz Halıcı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuratay Akşit. The İZMİT SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuratay Akşit should have stopped the shot. If Ferhan Balaban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 25th minute of the match Rafet Turkay completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rafet Turkay a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Berkant Başaran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes in the game, Ferhan Balaban fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aktan İltemur having to interfere. Berkant Başaran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan İltemur having to interfere. In the 30th minute Ferhan Balaban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aktan İltemur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferhan Balaban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Aktan İltemur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sancarbey Tunçboğa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sancarbey Tunçboğa during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Sancarbey Tunçboğa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berkant Başaran's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 48thth minute, Aktan İltemur skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferhan Balaban to strike the kick off in the second half. Feyzullay Necati recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferhan Balaban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan İltemur having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Berkant Başaran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aktan İltemur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ferhan Balaban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Anıl Cenk Tunçkurt fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored İZMİT SK's protests and gave Anıl Cenk Tunçkurt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to İZMİT SK getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Anıl Cenk Tunçkurt hit a great ball. Berkant Başaran blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aktan İltemur having to make a save. After a rather tough play, İstanbul FC's Sancarbey Tunçboğa got a free kick in the 75th minute. After recieving a nice pass, İZMİT SK's Halil Can Gezer tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, İstanbul FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ferhan Balaban came free, but Aktan İltemur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berkant Başaran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Ejder Çetintürk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. İZMİT SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave İstanbul FC the free kick. 82 minutes into the game, Ferhan Balaban cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Aktan İltemur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, İstanbul FC's Oğuz Halıcı got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute of the match Halil Can Gezer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aktan İltemur skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ejder Çetintürk in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aktan İltemur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Oğuz Halıcı fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored İstanbul FC's protests and gave Oğuz Halıcı a yellow card for diving instead. Oğuz Halıcı hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
