Trần Chuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Triệu Thi Ngoc fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ANH DUNG DZAI's protests and gave Triệu Thi Ngoc a yellow card for diving instead. Triệu Thi Ngoc kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hong made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Phạm Minh sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th match minute, Nam Dinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chung Viet to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Đào Nghiêm-Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Tinh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nam Dinh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ANH DUNG DZAI the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Nam Dinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tinh to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, ANH DUNG DZAI's Phạm Minh ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nguyễn Hong. Nguyễn Hong yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Trần Chuong struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Bùi Minh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nam Dinh. In the 29th minute Chung Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bùi Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Hong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đào Nghiêm-Minh's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Trần Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bùi Minh having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chung Tuan in the 38th minute of play forced ANH DUNG DZAI's goalkeeper Bùi Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Đào Nghiêm-Minh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Hong was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. ANH DUNG DZAI's Đào Nghiêm-Minh managed to work through Nam Dinh's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Đào Nghiêm-Minh dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 48th match minute, ANH DUNG DZAI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Minh to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trần Chuong made a kick off. Nguyễn Hong came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by ANH DUNG DZAI's Đào Nghiêm-Minh. But to his dismay, Đào Nghiêm-Minh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. ANH DUNG DZAI's Bùi Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Chuong in the 56th minute of play. Nguyễn Tinh was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Nam Dinh getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Nguyễn Tinh hit a great ball. If Phạm Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bùi Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nghiêm Phuoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Chung Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bùi Minh having to interfere. ANH DUNG DZAI's Bùi Minh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save ANH DUNG DZAI from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Chung Tuan put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bùi Minh. When Chung Tuan came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Nam Dinh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chung Tuan couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lê Tinh during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th minute, Lê Tinh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nam Dinh's Trần Chuong got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nam Dinh's Trần Chuong pulled a muscle in his leg after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game.
