Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jacob Connolly kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the match, Melbourne 007's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Renny came free, but Broderick Ceney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Matthias Renny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudy Gummow scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Legg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Jarrod Glover hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Melbourne 007's zone, Matthias Renny stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Broderick Ceney came out of the goal and Matthias Renny tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Melbourne 007's goalkeeper Broderick Ceney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matthias Renny. 23 minutes into the game, Melbourne 007's Dante King nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Legg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 29th minute, Dante King left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Melbourne 007 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 33 minutes into the match, Ridgley's goal looked a bit too open when Dante King came free, but Martin Legg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dante King's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Legg was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brye Awage in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Legg saved Ridgley from getting behind. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Renny in the 42nd minute of play. Abe Burtt hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rudy Gummow to make the kick off. Martin Legg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Gummow, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Melbourne 007's Dante King dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Martin Legg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dante King showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 57 minute of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Rudy Gummow managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melbourne 007's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudy Gummow was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Rudy Gummow recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martin Legg. Rudy Gummow showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Renny in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th of the match, Rudy Gummow tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Martin Legg got in the way and made a wonderful save. Dante King could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Martin Legg made a huge save. In the 73rdth minute of the game Rudy Gummow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ridgley's Martin Legg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Martin Legg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rudy Gummow went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Ridgley's Connor Rear got a free kick in the 79th minute. Melbourne 007's Broderick Ceney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias Renny in the 89th minute of play. Abe Burtt kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Martin Legg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Gummow in the 94th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Melbourne 007 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
