Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tawonga's Bradshaw Lander started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Loud Awage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Connolly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Loud Awage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Connolly, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Bradshaw Landers short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Martin Legg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Martin Legg managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Tawonga's Bradshaw Lander fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Loud Awage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Connolly, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Tawonga's Loud Awage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Connolly in the 14th minute of play. Danny Barry charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danny Barry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ridgley getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Danny Barry hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Martin Legg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Ridgley's goal looked a bit too open when Abbott Sylvester came free, but Martin Legg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Loud Awage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Renny in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Jacob Connolly left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ridgley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 32 minutes into the game, Jacob Connolly cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Loud Awage was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 36 minutes of play, Ridgley's Matthias Renny made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Loud Awage was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacob Connolly took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Loud Awage. Loud Awage dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. When Earnest Algoud came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Ridgley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Earnest Algoud couldn't finish the play. Loud Awage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earnest Algoud, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute of the match Ridgley got a corner. Tawonga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacob Connolly ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Abe Burtt heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jacob Connolly made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Bradshaw Lander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Legg was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 53rd match minute, Tawonga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaffery Angell to maneuver through the defense. In the 57thth minute of the game Jacob Connolly who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tawonga's Loud Awage was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Art Copelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Legg having to interfere. If Abbott Sylvester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Bradshaw Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ridgley's zone, Abbott Sylvester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Legg came out of the goal and Abbott Sylvester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bradshaw Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Earnest Algoud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Ridgley's goal looked a bit too open when Art Copelin came free, but Martin Legg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Tawonga's goalkeeper Loud Awage had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Earnest Algoud. In the 82nd minute Jacob Connolly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loud Awage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Earnest Algoud recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Tawonga's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Connolly came free, but Loud Awage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaffery Angell's late challenge caught a Ridgley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaffery Angell helped the player get up and apologised. Jaffery Angell kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Jacob Connolly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ridgley booed when Tawonga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russel Sibbold didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ridgley defense, Bradshaw Lander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Legg. The Ridgley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Legg should have stopped the shot. Tawonga's Jaffery Angell got his second yellow card of the match in the 97th minute. The referee ordered Jaffery Angell off the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tawonga fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Ridgley a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jacob Connolly, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tawonga's Loud Awage. 1-5. Ridgley's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
