Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tawonga's Bradshaw Lander started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Loud Awage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humphrey Wilde in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humphrey Wilde in the 6th minute of play forced Tawonga's goalkeeper Loud Awage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Payton Hamilton got free with Loud Awage in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tawonga's Abbott Sylvester got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Humphrey Wilde's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loud Awage was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Payton Hamilton struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Loud Awage didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maitland. Birrell Duncan charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Birrell Duncan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Art Copelin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Britton Oconnell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Mccartan in the 24th minute of play. Payton Hamilton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Loud Awage made a huge save. Loud Awage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humphrey Wilde in the 28th minute of play. Art Copelin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bradshaw Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 34 minutes into the match, Tawonga's goalkeeper Loud Awage had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Payton Hamilton. If Arthur Kean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Payton Hamilton was the one to do the kick off. Loud Awage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humphrey Wilde in the 56th minute of the match. Loud Awage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humphrey Wilde in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tawonga's zone, Arthur Kean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loud Awage came out of the goal and Arthur Kean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Tawonga defense, Arthur Kean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loud Awage. The Tawonga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Loud Awage should have stopped the shot. 70 minutes into the game, Payton Hamilton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Loud Awage was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Tawonga's zone, Dalton Norman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Loud Awage came out of the goal and Dalton Norman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaffery Angell kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Loud Awage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humphrey Wilde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arthur Kean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loud Awage having to interfere. Loud Awage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humphrey Wilde in the 81st minute of the match. Arthur Kean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Tawonga's goal looked a bit too open when Humphrey Wilde came free, but Loud Awage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Ralph Mccartan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tawonga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maitland the free kick. After 93 played minutes Tawonga got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Mccartan. 95 minutes into the game, Maitland's Humphrey Wilde nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Loud Awage made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. There was no doubt that Maitland were the better team. Maitland's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
