In the 24th minute Nestor Tesone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Iban was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 38th minute, Abel Iban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Tesone in the 39th minute of play. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Tesone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42ndth minute of the game Nestor Tesone who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Los Laguneros de AT's attentive Radomil Frodyma managed to snatch the ball when Benigno Abreu made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor Tesone was the one to do the kick off. Nestor Tesone scored 2-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pankracy Glogowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 55 minutes into the match, Los Laguneros de AT's Nestor Tesone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pankracy Glogowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nestor Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pankracy Glogowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Los Laguneros de AT's Tomas Abaurre was substituted for Fabio Nabar. In the 71st minute Los Laguneros de AT were awarded a corner. Teofilo Ourente went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Los Laguneros de AT's Teofilo Ourente to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Glogowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Nestor Tesone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nestor Tesone took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pankracy Glogowski.
