Ximenez Caneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gargollo in the 7th minute of play. Volker Ippig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yves Passot, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Deportivo Galicia's Yves Passot got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gomesano Marichal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ximenez Caneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ximenez Caneiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gomesano Marichal's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Obrero Barquisimeto were awarded a corner. Fausto Comillas went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 27th minute Joel Gargollo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenez Caneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ximenez Caneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gargollo in the 33rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yves Passot got free with Volker Ippig in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ximenez Caneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Pestaña in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Serafino Pestaña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Obrero Barquisimeto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafino Pestaña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gargollo to make the kick off. Volker Ippig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cordairo Aveo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Juan Fernando Pratto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Volker Ippig was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. 63 minutes into the match, Obrero Barquisimeto's goal looked a bit too open when Cordairo Aveo came free, but Volker Ippig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gomesano Marichal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Obrero Barquisimeto's Volker Ippig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Burt Cawthorne in the 68th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Deportivo Galicia's goalkeeper Ximenez Caneiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Gargollo. In the 77th minute, Obrero Barquisimeto's Joel Gargollo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ximenez Caneiro. Ximenez Caneiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Obrero Barquisimeto's Volker Ippig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cordairo Aveo in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute Deportivo Galicia were awarded a corner. Juan Fernando Pratto went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Galicia's corner Juan Fernando Pratto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Volker Ippig quite easily take care of the ball. Deportivo Galicia's Ximenez Caneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Galicia from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Cordairo Aveo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Euglent Lilo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute of the match Juan Fernando Pratto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Volker Ippig showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Obrero Barquisimeto had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
