Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Basarab Irod kicked off to start the match. Marius Tănasă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Balint in the 27th minute of play. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Alexandru, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Marius Tănasă advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 32nd minute. In the 41st minute, Dorel Balint made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Tilea. Academia Rio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 45 minutes into the match, Raureni Academy's goalkeeper Mădălin Lunca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergiu Coșeriu. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
50 minutes into the match, Raureni Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Radu Păvăloae came free, but Mădălin Lunca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 51st minute Academia Rio were awarded a corner. Alex Nicolae went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Academia Rio's Alex Nicolae to fire away a dangerous shot which Mădălin Lunca despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pavel Alexandru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Raureni Academy got a freekick which was hit by Eliodor Timofte. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavel Alexandru in the 60th minute of the match. Pavel Alexandru's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Gigel Tilea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Raureni Academy getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Eliodor Timofte hit a great ball. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Alexandru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigel Tilea made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Dorel Balint sent off a good shot on target. After 76 played minutes Raureni Academy got a freekick which was hit by Marius Tănasă. In the 77th minute Alex Nicolae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mădălin Lunca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mădălin Lunca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Păvăloae in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Nicolae in the 86th minute of play forced Raureni Academy's goalkeeper Mădălin Lunca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes of play, Academia Rio's Basarab Irod made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mădălin Lunca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dorel Balint who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Gigel Tilea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 95 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Dumitru Pantelimon. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Raureni Academy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
