Olivier Ancel did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Vicky Donda 12 minutes into the match. Vicky Donda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabian Sandoval in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's goalkeeper Vicky Donda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Vicky Donda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Sandoval in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of R.B Leipzig booed when ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wei Jian Hui didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tord Söderqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lech Urban having to make a save. Vicky Donda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olivier Ancel in the 33rd minute of the match. Fabian Sandoval kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Sandoval was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Abancens came free, but Lech Urban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes in the game, Tord Söderqvist fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lech Urban having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Tibau Devaux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ made a substitution. Domenico Masetti replaced Șerban Demian. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Rıfkı Erdönmez was substituted for Tord Söderqvist. In the 62nd minute, Tibau Devaux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Rıfkı Erdönmez came free, but Lech Urban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domenico Masetti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Lech Urban made a huge save. After a rather tough play, ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Hernan Chico got a free kick in the 70th minute. R.B Leipzig's Lech Urban proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save R.B Leipzig from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute, ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Domenico Masetti dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Lech Urban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Chico, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 80 minutes R.B Leipzig's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wei Jian Hui who took care of the corner kick. 83 minutes into the game, ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Rıfkı Erdönmez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lech Urban made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 89th minute R.B Leipzig were awarded a corner. Manny Ciscal went to the cornerflag to take it. Olivier Ancel charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olivier Ancel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 94 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Domenico Masetti came free, but Lech Urban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lech Urban was a little too slow when Rıfkı Erdönmez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 2-3.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
