The audience thought a goal was coming when Hoàng Phong got free with Austen Farrow in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the match, Cementerio Club's goalkeeper Austen Farrow had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Mai. In the 35th minute Vietnam were awarded a corner. Lê Thuyet went to the cornerflag to take it. Vũ Bien was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Hoàng Tran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wlodzimierz Penczkowski's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Melchor Abancens's late challenge caught a Vietnam's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melchor Abancens helped the player get up and apologised. Melchor Abancens kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 64th minute Nguyễn Mai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Austen Farrow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 played minutes Cementerio Club got a freekick which was hit by Pawel Brytan. Hoàng Tran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Norino, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Cementerio Club's Melchor Abancens got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Melchor Abancens off the ground. In the 78th minute of the match Lê Thuyet sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Austen Farrow skillfully saved the ball. Hoàng Tran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wlodzimierz Penczkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With a little luck, Vietnam's Hoàng Tran got control of the ball when Wlodzimierz Penczkowski tried to sneak it across the goal line.
