Ahvo LÀhteenmÀki made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Igor Dillies sent off a good shot on target. Ahvo LÀhteenmÀki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Dillies in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Markku Ruhanen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ibrahim Hermand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 25 minutes, Igor Dillies managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Liverpool FC. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Ahvo LÀhteenmÀki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Real Sociedad had won after a very even match.
