Celta de Virgos's players were relieved. 14 minutes into the game, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Ivan Nisio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zacarias Ascencio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 17th match minute, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Odol to maneuver through the defense. Roland Schiavi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Danilo Demario got a throw-in 28 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alexis Sanchez. 29 minutes into the match, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Virila came free, but Luis Mejía reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute Ivan Nisio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Virila was the one to do the kick off. Jorge Virila might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luis Mejía. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The throw-in from Godfredo Odol in the 61st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Celta de Virgos's Sergio Sayvion. After some careless play in the Celta de Virgos defense, Ivan Nisio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zacarias Ascencio. The Celta de Virgos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Ascencio should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Virila in the 72nd minute of play forced ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s goalkeeper Luis Mejía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Luis Mejía played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Virila in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adan Sengrat in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zacarias Ascencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰ booed when Celta de Virgos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Demario didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zacarias Ascencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adan Sengrat's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 81st minute of the match, Jorge Virila tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luis Mejía saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Celta de Virgos's Leonardo Cordero got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Adan Sengrat managed to get in a good position for a shot. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s supporters rose to their feet, but Adan Sengrat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Sengrat in the 88th minute of play. Zacarias Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Sengrat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
