If Mathew Gunter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orthros Antonopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Mitchell in the 11th minute of play. Nea Salamis's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ptolemeos Vardakas in the 15th minute. In the 20th minute, Alkibiades Kutras made a precise shot to the right of Christopher Love. Margaret Atwood Impact's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Orthros Antonopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Dalton in the 23rd minute of the match. Michael Dalton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orthros Antonopoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Christopher Love showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Nistelrooy, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jim Mitchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Orthros Antonopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orthros Antonopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Mitchell in the 31st minute of play. Orthros Antonopoulos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mathew Gunter went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Nea Salamis's zone, Michael Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orthros Antonopoulos came out of the goal and Michael Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christopher Love made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Ruud Nistelrooy sent off a good shot on target. Nea Salamis's Orthros Antonopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Dalton in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruud Nistelrooy to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Nea Salamis's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Mitchell came free, but Orthros Antonopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timothy Watson got free with Orthros Antonopoulos in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathew Gunter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Orthros Antonopoulos made a huge save. Orthros Antonopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Mitchell in the 60th minute of play. After 61 minutes Nea Salamis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jim Mitchell who took care of the corner kick. In the 69th minute Alkibiades Kutras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Love saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Jim Mitchell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orthros Antonopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Dalton in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hylton Brookes in the 88th minute of play forced Nea Salamis's goalkeeper Orthros Antonopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Hylton Brookes notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Nea Salamis's Orthros Antonopoulos. Orthros Antonopoulos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Nea Salamis fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Margaret Atwood Impact were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
