In the 25th minute, Michael Dalton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Krzysztof Jakisz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 31st minute Michael Dalton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krzysztof Jakisz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Margaret Atwood Impact's Timothy Watson to fire away a dangerous shot which Krzysztof Jakisz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 35th minute, Mathew Gunter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tytus Awizo got free with Christopher Love in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Christopher Love showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tytus Awizo in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jim Mitchell to make the kick off. In the 94th minute, Jim Mitchell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krzysztof Jakisz was a little too slow when Michael Dalton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-5. Margaret Atwood Impact's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
