After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Jim Mitchell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Margaret Atwood Impact's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Mitchell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Robson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hythe United Rangers's Peter Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Dalton in the 9th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Margaret Atwood Impact's Jim Mitchell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Robson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute Michael Dalton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Michael Dalton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lance Eyre struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Christopher Love didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hythe United Rangers. Christopher Love made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tosh Higginson in the 18th minute of play. After 20 minutes Margaret Atwood Impact's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dylan Crossley who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Dylan Crossley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Margaret Atwood Impact's Christopher Love did a great save. Christopher Love made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tosh Higginson in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Mitchell in the 23rd minute of play forced Hythe United Rangers's goalkeeper Peter Robson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Margaret Atwood Impact were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Hythe United Rangers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jim Mitchell took the corner. At last the ball reached Michael Dalton at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Hythe United Rangers. 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Margaret Atwood Impact's Jim Mitchell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Robson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Hythe United Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Zak Crocker. When Michael Dalton came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Margaret Atwood Impact fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Dalton couldn't finish the play. Jim Mitchell might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Robson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jim Mitchell ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Mitchell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Luke Hislop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Dalton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Robson having to interfere. Christopher Love took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tosh Higginson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timothy Watson in the 62nd minute of play forced Hythe United Rangers's goalkeeper Peter Robson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Margaret Atwood Impact's Christopher Love played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tosh Higginson in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute of the match Hythe United Rangers got a corner. Margaret Atwood Impact's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dylan Crossley ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Hythe United Rangers's corner Nick Newton fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Christopher Love quite easily take care of the ball. Hythe United Rangers's Peter Robson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Hythe United Rangers from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Mathew Gunter made a precise shot to the right of Peter Robson. Hythe United Rangers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Margaret Atwood Impact's zone, Lance Eyre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Love came out of the goal and Lance Eyre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
