Margaret Atwood Impact's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Margaret Atwood Impact's Michael Dalton was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 79th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With a little luck, Öcalan's Jacek Chuchro got control of the ball when Jim Mitchell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jim Mitchell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Öcalan's Jacek Chuchro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Öcalan from getting a goal against them. Margaret Atwood Impact's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
