River de Ramos Mejía's Eleuterio Maureo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathew Gunter in the 8th minute of play. Jim Mitchell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eleuterio Maureo having to make a save. Michael Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christopher Love stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gianni Giammarino's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Eleuterio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Mitchell, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Jim Mitchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Eleuterio Maureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Margaret Atwood Impact's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jim Mitchell in the 21st minute. A well done corner resulted in Timothy Watson drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind River de Ramos Mejía's goalkeeper. Eleuterio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Dalton, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Mathew Gunter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eleuterio Maureo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Alejo Maties could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Christopher Love made a huge save. Jim Mitchell was slow to take the kick. During this time Margaret Atwood Impact's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jim Mitchell almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but River de Ramos Mejía's Eleuterio Maureo did a great save. The audience was convinced that Hylton Brookes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eleuterio Maureo was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim Mitchell got free with Eleuterio Maureo in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eleuterio Maureo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Mitchell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Falcão in the 85th minute of play forced Margaret Atwood Impact's goalkeeper Christopher Love to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute of the match, Jim Mitchell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eleuterio Maureo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 93 minutes into the match, Margaret Atwood Impact's goal looked a bit too open when Elliott Falcão came free, but Christopher Love reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Margaret Atwood Impact left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than River de Ramos Mejía.
