The crowd rose to their feet as Rogério Cunha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Philip Palmer. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. Sojourner Truth Pioneers's Philip Palmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Cunha in the 16th minute of play. Natanael de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Palmer having to interfere. In the 25th minute Natanael de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Palmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sojourner Truth Pioneers's zone, Mário Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Palmer came out of the goal and Mário Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natanael de Amorim took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Philip Palmer. Philip Palmer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 36th match minute, Sojourner Truth Pioneers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Greig to maneuver through the defense. Reynaldo Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Rennie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Cidade Nova getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Maurinho Netto hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Rod Williamson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sojourner Truth Pioneers's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Williamson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rod Williamson was the one to do the kick off. Rod Williamson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igor Loureiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Philip Palmer. Sojourner Truth Pioneers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. William Rennie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rod Williamson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Reynaldo Cardozo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael de Amorim in the 65th minute of play forced Sojourner Truth Pioneers's goalkeeper Philip Palmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Natanael de Amorim made a precise shot to the right of Philip Palmer. Sojourner Truth Pioneers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. If Simão Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, Cidade Nova's goalkeeper Reynaldo Cardozo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rod Williamson. Reynaldo Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Rennie in the 79th minute of play. After having played for 80 minutes, Mário Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cidade Nova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Sojourner Truth Pioneers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Arnold to maneuver through the defense. After 86 played minutes Cidade Nova got a freekick which was hit by Simão Figueiredo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simão Figueiredo in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Philip Palmer saved Sojourner Truth Pioneers from getting behind. Philip Palmer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
