An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Mitchell in the 5th minute of play forced VV Werchrata's goalkeeper Hany Moamen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jim Mitchell took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hany Moamen. Hany Moamen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hany Moamen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Dalton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hany Moamen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Watson, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Michael Dalton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hany Moamen having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Damian Brzeszczak made a precise shot to the right of Christopher Love. Margaret Atwood Impact's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 19 minutes into the game, Mathew Gunter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Hany Moamen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jim Mitchell might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hany Moamen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jim Mitchell ran back to his position shaking his head. 24 minutes into the game, Margaret Atwood Impact's Michael Dalton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hany Moamen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind VV Werchrata's goalkeeper Hany Moamen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stefan Dudzik kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Damian Brzeszczak came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the VV Werchrata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Brzeszczak couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, VV Werchrata's Everardo Faron got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Michael Dalton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Margaret Atwood Impact's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Dalton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hany Moamen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jim Mitchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hany Moamen having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hólmfastur Óskarsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Margaret Atwood Impact's zone, Damian Brzeszczak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Love came out of the goal and Damian Brzeszczak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
