After a defensive mix-up in Eleven Young Elephants's zone, Diego Sadurni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramón Tróia came out of the goal and Diego Sadurni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Hanot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicholas Quintano's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. A hard shot 20 in the game by Everardo Blasco from a close distance when the talented Ramón Tróia managed to make a qualified save. Eleven Young Elephants's players were relieved. 24 minutes into the game, Clemente Johans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Furia Calamar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eleven Young Elephants the free kick. In the 24th match minute, Furia Calamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Johans to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Furia Calamar getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Clemente Johans hit a great ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Darren Carabott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eleven Young Elephants's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darren Carabott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Furia Calamar's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Quintano came free, but Daniel Hanot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Everardo Blasco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Furia Calamar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Sant in the 43rd minute of play forced Furia Calamar's goalkeeper Daniel Hanot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicholas Quintano made a kick off. Daniel Hanot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Sant in the 73rd minute. Furia Calamar's Damaso Sotero was substituted for Diego Sadurni.
