The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Mathew Gunter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolo Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Margaret Atwood Impact's Michael Dalton got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 4th minute, Xesus Maldonado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bartolo Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Dalton in the 6th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Alcorcón A.D.A's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Dalton came free, but Bartolo Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jonathan Villanueva fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alcorcón A.D.A's protests and gave Jonathan Villanueva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Xesus Lillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Michael Dalton notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Alcorcón A.D.A's Bartolo Cordoba. Bartolo Cordoba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 16 minutes into the game, Jacinto Incera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alcorcón A.D.A's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Margaret Atwood Impact the free kick. Jacinto Incera kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Margaret Atwood Impact's Michael Dalton got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jim Mitchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alcorcón A.D.A's Jonathan Villanueva got his second yellow card of the match in the 20th minute. The referee ordered Jonathan Villanueva off the ground. A collision led to Alcorcón A.D.A getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jonathan Villanueva hit a great ball. Bartolo Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Mitchell in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Pau Teruel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bartolo Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hylton Brookes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Jim Mitchell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alcorcón A.D.A's Bartolo Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alcorcón A.D.A's zone, Michael Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartolo Cordoba came out of the goal and Michael Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bartolo Cordoba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timothy Watson went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 39th minute, Jim Mitchell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Margaret Atwood Impact fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Timothy Watson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Cordoba having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Alcorcón A.D.A's zone, Jim Mitchell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartolo Cordoba came out of the goal and Jim Mitchell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roi Sacristán to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Margaret Atwood Impact's zone, Roi Sacristán stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Love came out of the goal and Roi Sacristán tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Xesus Lillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jim Mitchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Michael Dalton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Hylton Brookes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Jim Mitchell took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Bartolo Cordoba to make any attempt to save it. Jim Mitchell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alcorcón A.D.A's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jim Mitchell was slow to take the kick. During this time Margaret Atwood Impact's players had a chance to rest. Lucio Abajas tried in the game's 72nd match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Bartolo Cordoba. An annoying self made goal, 0-6. In the 77th minute of the match Margaret Atwood Impact got a corner. Alcorcón A.D.A's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jim Mitchell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bartolo Cordoba was a little too slow when Michael Dalton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-7. 84 minutes into the match, Jim Mitchell notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Alcorcón A.D.A's Bartolo Cordoba. Bartolo Cordoba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bartolo Cordoba was a little too slow when Michael Dalton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-9. After some careless play in the Alcorcón A.D.A defense, Jim Mitchell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bartolo Cordoba. The Alcorcón A.D.A fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartolo Cordoba should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim Mitchell got free with Bartolo Cordoba in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
