With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amanda van der Sar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Vancouver Reds getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Florentino Barrette hit a great ball. Santana Armada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Estevez in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Hermengildo Jorrin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amanda van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blas Estevez scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santana Armada, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Formentera's Amanda van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Art Rhoades in the 30th minute of play. Amanda van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Amanda van der Sar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jake Perrault in the 34th minute. Art Rhoades scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amanda van der Sar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jake Perrault kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 40 minutes Vancouver Reds's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gavino Benvide who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Recife in the 69th minute of play forced Formentera's goalkeeper Amanda van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Caio da Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amanda van der Sar was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Caio da Rocha sped through Formentera's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amanda van der Sar. In the 84th minute Caio da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amanda van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santana Armada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Jorrin in the 86th minute of the match. Caio da Rocha took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amanda van der Sar. Amanda van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 97th minute, Seymour Coffman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vancouver Reds had won after a very even match.
