Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Antonio Valencia got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute of the match, Nicolas Robires tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edson Cereceda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 8th minute, Henry Goicoechea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Buitrago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Valencia, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute, Marcelo Zurica ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Humberto Buitrago was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Henry Goicoechea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Humberto Buitrago. Dynamo FC Guayaquil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Henry Goicoechea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 21 minutes, Antonio Valencia made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Dynamo FC Guayaquil's Humberto Buitrago tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ur Guren scored 0-4 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Buitrago, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antonio Valencia might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Humberto Buitrago. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Valencia ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Dynamo FC Guayaquil's Edson Cereceda threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Angel Fontecilla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Humberto Buitrago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Valencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Marcelo Zurica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Antonio Valencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pablo-Enrique Mendibuey hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Marcelo Zurica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd minute Marcelo Zurica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Buitrago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Buitrago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Zurica in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Robires in the 47th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Edson Cereceda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angel Fontecilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edson Cereceda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Robires in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Dynamo FC Guayaquil's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Valencia came free, but Humberto Buitrago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Buitrago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th match minute, Dynamo FC Guayaquil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zernin Campo to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Zurica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Buitrago having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Antonio Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Buitrago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Fontecilla in the 64th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Edson Cereceda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diaz Oliva charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diaz Oliva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diaz Oliva to maneuver through the defense. Edson Cereceda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Fontecavada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Dynamo FC Guayaquil's zone, Henry Goicoechea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Buitrago came out of the goal and Henry Goicoechea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henry Goicoechea in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Humberto Buitrago, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 80th minute, Umbruso Malpica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Angel Fontecilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Cereceda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Raimundo Fontecavada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Zurica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henry Goicoechea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Humberto Buitrago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Henry Goicoechea came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Inter de Guayaquil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Goicoechea couldn't finish the play. The Inter de Guayaquil FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
