Ronaldo Alija took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Gould, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, Heriberto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnalt Güega to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, C. A. Punta Carretas's goal looked a bit too open when Kaiet Franquis came free, but Mattias Gerhof reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Gomez Seguin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Alija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, C. A. Punta Carretas's goal looked a bit too open when Leheren Marto came free, but Mattias Gerhof reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mingo Luaces received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ronaldo Alija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, C. A. Punta Carretas's Sugar Tejeyra got a free kick in the 40th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gomez Seguin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When C. A. Punta Carretas's Gomez Seguin, in the 51st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Punta Carretas. 53 minutes into the game, Jean Gould cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ronaldo Alija was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mattias Gerhof made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Cutberto Madrigal sent off a good shot on target. Ronaldo Alija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mingo Luaces in the 68th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes C. A. Punta Carretas got a freekick which was hit by Martino Rojica. Freddy Breton kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Gomez Seguin scored 2-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Alija, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Heriberto's Mattias Gerhof threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaiet Franquis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 81st match minute, C. A. Punta Carretas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martino Rojica to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Breton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gomez Seguin in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldo Alija prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ronaldo Alija showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mingo Luaces, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The C. A. Punta Carretas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Heriberto had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
