God Save The Fernet's Luan Hristov suffered a sore thigh after 8 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Cristóbal Walton during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes Universidad Catolica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Cristóbal Walton. Saturnino Birila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Arne Nyman, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Universidad Catolica's Juan Raúl Berguecio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Efraín Canío narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, God Save The Fernet's Oriol Iñiguez got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Hardo Usin managed to get in a good position for a shot. God Save The Fernet's supporters rose to their feet, but Hardo Usin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saturnino Birila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Efraín Canío made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 郑霆梁 in the 27th minute of play. Saturnino Birila came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by God Save The Fernet's Hardo Usin. But to his dismay, Hardo Usin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The audience was convinced that Hardo Usin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saturnino Birila was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Hardo Usin sped through Universidad Catolica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Saturnino Birila. After 40 played minutes God Save The Fernet got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Manuel Katalinic. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Universidad Catolica made a substitution. Jardel das Neves replaced Juan Raúl Berguecio. The wind increased when Hardo Usin made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hardo Usin in the 56th minute of play forced Universidad Catolica's goalkeeper Saturnino Birila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hardo Usin struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Saturnino Birila didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for God Save The Fernet. In the 64th minute, Vito Alcalde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes in the game Guillermo Bolocco did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to 郑霆梁. In the 70th minute Codruț Paraschivescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efraín Canío saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Hardo Usin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saturnino Birila. Universidad Catolica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hardo Usin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Hardo Usin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Birila having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Universidad Catolica's zone, Hardo Usin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Birila came out of the goal and Hardo Usin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Hardo Usin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Birila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the God Save The Fernet defense, Codruț Paraschivescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efraín Canío. The God Save The Fernet fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efraín Canío should have stopped the shot. Efraín Canío showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. God Save The Fernet had played much better football throughout.
