Potirendaba FC's Ismael da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murillo Sanches in the 9th minute of play. In the 15th minute, one of Potirendaba FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Potirendaba FC. After 21 played minutes Potirendaba FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Negri. With his leg Ismael da Fonseca managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Aricobe's Elano Ortiz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Murillo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Aricobe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Salgado to maneuver through the defense. When Zé Negri came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Potirendaba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Negri couldn't finish the play. Ramiro Simão's late challenge caught a Aricobe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramiro Simão helped the player get up and apologised. Ramiro Simão kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Potirendaba FC's Zé Negri came free and shot a quick shot against goal 65 minutes in the game, fortunately Marcelinho Brodel had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Zé Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aricobe's Marcelinho Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Simão in the 71st minute of play. In the 75th minute Ramiro Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Aricobe's Jardel Freire got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ramiro Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Brodel having to interfere. A collision led to Aricobe getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gilvan Carneiro hit a great ball. After 83 minutes of play, Potirendaba FC's Zé Negri made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelinho Brodel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sandro Sá hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Adilson Félix in the 93rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ismael da Fonseca's left hand side. Potirendaba FC's Zé Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
