A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Paulo Renato Tepedino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Aricobe's Paulo Renato Tepedino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Szczepan Mentus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gernando Pires during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Gernando Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonas Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. If Rubens Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Amaral in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelinho Brodel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcelinho Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Amaral in the 44th minute of play. When Gernando Pires came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Pires couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rubens Peres to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulo Renato Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szczepan Mentus having to interfere. Rubens Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Szczepan Mentus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paulo Renato Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Szczepan Mentus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Tepedino in the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Aricobe's zone, Pedro Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelinho Brodel came out of the goal and Pedro Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Jonas Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho Brodel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Aricobe's Marcelinho Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Amaral in the 90th minute of play. Jonas Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelinho Brodel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonas Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jardel Freire during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Aricobe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Freire to maneuver through the defense. S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
