The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zé Augusto Ortiz's late challenge caught a Atlético Lucena FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Augusto Ortiz helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Augusto Ortiz hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, Jacurutu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Lago to maneuver through the defense. Tostão Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacurutu AD's Sílvio Luís Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio Luís Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Negri having to interfere. Tostão Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Luizinho Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Brasil in the 21st minute of play forced Jacurutu AD's goalkeeper Thiago Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Recife was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Almir Brasil showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Tostão Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Luizinho Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizinho Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Pires in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Cardoso in the 35th minute of play forced Jacurutu AD's goalkeeper Thiago Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Cardoso had several of the Jacurutu AD's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Thiago Recife as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thiago Recife made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Vítor Tasso sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tostão Pires made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão Pires got free with Luizinho Negri in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th match minute, Atlético Lucena FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Quadros to maneuver through the defense. Tostão Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Luizinho Negri managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Jacurutu AD's Tostão Pires fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 62 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Cardoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Thiago Recife was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Jacurutu AD booed when Atlético Lucena FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. When Ruy Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Lucena FC's protests and gave Ruy Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. 76 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Meireles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Lucena FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jacurutu AD the free kick. After 76 played minutes Atlético Lucena FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Meireles. A collision led to Jacurutu AD getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Marcos Lago hit a great ball. Thiago Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Cardoso in the 80th minute of play. The Atlético Lucena FC fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Atlético Lucena FC's Marcelinho Cardoso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Jacurutu AD's Marcos Lago got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute Marcelinho Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacurutu AD's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
