River Pate were furious when Emilio Gonsalve was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of River Pate:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leones Cristianos F.C.:s goal. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Leones Cristianos F.C.. Fabio Basajaun stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amado Ceandro. 1-0. Leandro Perfecto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Federico Arnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jonatan Atarrabi came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Leones Cristianos F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Atarrabi couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benedicto Guipuzkoa during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 32 minutes in the game, Danilo Olayo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Amado Ceandro having to interfere. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind River Pate's goalkeeper Amado Ceandro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ricardo Procopio fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Pate's protests and gave Ricardo Procopio a yellow card for diving instead. Jonatan Atarrabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Amado Ceandro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonatan Atarrabi to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jonatan Atarrabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amado Ceandro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Atarrabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Jonatan Atarrabi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones Cristianos F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Jonatan Atarrabi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Ceandro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonatan Atarrabi took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Ceandro. Amado Ceandro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Perfecto got free with Federico Arnas in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leandro Perfecto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leones Cristianos F.C.'s Fabio Basajaun couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 68th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for River Pate. After a rather tough play, Leones Cristianos F.C.'s Inocencio Arnalt got a free kick in the 70th minute. Leandro Perfecto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leandro Perfecto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amado Ceandro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonatan Atarrabi's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Amado Ceandro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonatan Atarrabi, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Cristian Olivar took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Ceandro. Amado Ceandro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. If Cristian Olivar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leones Cristianos F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
