Raoul Frank stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Falk Tadic's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Mönstadt's Falk Tadic nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raoul Frank made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute, Roberto Kuhl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holger Bauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam König showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holger Bauer in the 17th minute of the match. Raoul Frank stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Falk Tadic's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. If Jochen Benscheider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mönstadt's Adam König got control of the ball when Jochen Benscheider tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adam König showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Holger Bauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. RB Leipzig's Raoul Frank played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falk Tadic in the 32nd minute of play. When Holger Bauer came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the RB Leipzig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Holger Bauer couldn't finish the play. If Jochen Benscheider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Holger Bauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Brüggmann kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Martin Briesemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mönstadt's Falk Tadic got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Falk Tadic made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Falk Tadic took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Raoul Frank to make any attempt to save it. If Falk Tadic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Sonnemans got free with Raoul Frank in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Holger Bauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th match minute, RB Leipzig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Brüggmann to maneuver through the defense. Raoul Frank made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Martin Briesemann sent off a good shot on target. If Holger Bauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
