Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robert Davison, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scotland's goalkeeper Robert Davison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 11th minute of the match Austria got a corner. Scotland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Randy Hübsch ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Robin Steckamp to score against Robert Davison in Scotland's goal. 1-0 after 12 minutes. Robert Davison stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robin Steckamp's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Robin Steckamp received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Robert Davison came out and tried to block the shot, but Robin Steckamp slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fergus Campbell in the 22nd minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Austria's Robin Steckamp ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robert Davison. Robert Davison yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scotland's goalkeeper Robert Davison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth McNee, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Archie Brodie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 35th minute, Robin Steckamp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Robert Davison. The goal made the score 4-1. Robin Steckamp's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Robert Davison skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Robin Steckamp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Austria's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Steckamp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Davison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paddy Thomson to maneuver through the defense. Robin Steckamp's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robert Davison firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Calum McKechnie got a free kick in the 45th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenneth McNee in the 47th minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fergus Campbell to strike the kick off in the second half. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Archie Brodie in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher got control of the ball when Archie Brodie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robin Steckamp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth McNee, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Fergus Campbell sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute Paddy Thomson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Steckamp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robert Davison having to make a save. Robert Davison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Steckamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austria's Ralf-Joachim Maiwald was substituted for Adib Ovi. Philip Ibertsberger kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Hans-Jürgen Pötscher successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 85 minutes into the match, Michael-Jan Schönberg notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Scotland's Robert Davison. Robert Davison was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robert Davison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael-Jan Schönberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Scotland's Archie Brodie. But to his dismay, Archie Brodie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Scotland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Austria.
