An unexpectedly hard shot by Witold Bycofski in the 4th minute of play forced U21 Venezuela's goalkeeper Alberino Pujana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Rosio Tineo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Venezuela's Alberino Pujana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Witold Bycofski in the 12th minute of play. Alberino Pujana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Witold Bycofski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspard Izquierdo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Poland's Gigi Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Poland from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wit Chuchro in the 18th minute of play forced U21 Venezuela's goalkeeper Alberino Pujana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes U21 Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zdzislaw Rydzewski who took care of the corner kick. With 26 minutes on the clock, Ximun Zaldos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Alberino Pujana had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Zdzislaw Rydzewski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Zdzislaw Rydzewski took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberino Pujana. Alberino Pujana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaspard Izquierdo got free with Gigi Buffon in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Xofre Pontones fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Venezuela's protests and gave Xofre Pontones a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes U21 Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Xofre Pontones. When Witold Bycofski came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the U21 Poland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Witold Bycofski couldn't finish the play. Alberino Pujana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wit Chuchro, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half U21 Poland were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspard Izquierdo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Witold Bycofski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberino Pujana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Poland made a substitution. Jakub Kuszczak replaced Wit Chuchro. 62 minutes into the match, Jakub Kuszczak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberino Pujana. U21 Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jakub Kuszczak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wawrzyniec Pysz in the 68th minute of play forced U21 Venezuela's goalkeeper Alberino Pujana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspard Izquierdo in the 72nd minute of the match. Ryszard Komornicki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Alberino Pujana made a huge save. In the 76th minute Gaspard Izquierdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Jakub Kuszczak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Alberino Pujana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspard Izquierdo in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Witold Bycofski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alberino Pujana. Witold Bycofski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Witold Bycofski managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Poland's supporters rose to their feet, but Witold Bycofski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberino Pujana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Witold Bycofski was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, U21 Poland's Leonard Golota got a free kick in the 91st minute. The throw-in from Rosio Tineo in the 94th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Poland's Phillip Piątek. U21 Poland's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
