Ren Jie Fan might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belmiro Corzana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ren Jie Fan ran back to his position shaking his head. After 37 minutes of play, GeRaÇãO-83's Ren Jie Fan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Belmiro Corzana was left in no man's land by his defense there! Belmiro Corzana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ren Jie Fan in the 41st minute of play. GeRaÇãO-83's Sergio Aguirre managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eli Isern in the 43 minute of the game. After the first half GeRaÇãO-83 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Omar Arnaldo to make the kick off. Belmiro Corzana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ren Jie Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Ren Jie Fan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A very good chance for a goal. 57 minutes into the match, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goalkeeper Belmiro Corzana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ren Jie Fan. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Belmiro Corzana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Glorioso Deportivo Cali from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute, GeRaÇãO-83's Robinho Freire dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. The supporters of GeRaÇãO-83 booed when Glorioso Deportivo Cali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Estebano Partearroyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner ended in John Stones almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GeRaÇãO-83's Mazinho Barreto did a great save. In the 97th match minute, GeRaÇãO-83 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Vega to maneuver through the defense. Omar Arnaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Barreto having to interfere.
