But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ademir Castro couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Floresta Negra FC booed when Velho Barreiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Luizinho Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velho Barreiro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Floresta Negra FC the free kick. After 17 played minutes Velho Barreiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Félix. After 20 played minutes Floresta Negra FC got a freekick which was hit by Dieguinho de Queirós. Velho Barreiro FC's Fellipe Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Vinhas in the 26th minute of play. Aírton Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aírton Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fellipe Recife didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tostão Queirós went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 45th minute, Floresta Negra FC's Tostão Queirós dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luizinho Félix stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Baltazar Monteiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 83rd minute, Evaristo Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Floresta Negra FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
