They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 88th minute, Poland's Feliks Wojton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Moldova's Cãlin Damaschin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Moldova from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute of the match Poland got a corner. Moldova's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lech Pisarcik ran over to the corner to take the kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Poland walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
