The referee ignored U21 Vietnam's protests and gave Nguyễn Dung a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, U21 Vietnam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dung to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Quang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Gabriel Hauche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Nguyễn Quang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Khoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Van Tai Em recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Quang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Ur in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Vietnam's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho do Vale came free, but Nguyễn Quang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Quang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernan Ur in the 19th minute of the match. After having played for 20 minutes, Alcides Berardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maní FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alcides Berardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Maní FC booed when U21 Vietnam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Khoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Bernardinho do Vale sped through U21 Vietnam's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nguyễn Quang. 29 minutes into the game, Maní FC's Bernardinho do Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Quang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 40th minute Maní FC were awarded a corner. Javi Pinola went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Maní FC's Javi Pinola to fire away a dangerous shot which Nguyễn Quang despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 46th minute Bernardinho do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Quang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Quang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Hauche in the 47th minute of the match. 47 minutes in the game, Gabriel Hauche dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Khoi to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Quang didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 53rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Hauche in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Quang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Hauche in the 62nd minute of play forced U21 Vietnam's goalkeeper Nguyễn Quang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Vietnam's Nguyễn Quang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Hauche in the 63rd minute of play. Bernardinho do Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Quang made a huge save. Benjamin Odon kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Alcides Berardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maní FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alcides Berardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Bernardinho do Vale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nguyễn Quang. That made the score 0-5 in the 76 minute of play. Maní FC's Bernardinho do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Vietnam's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Gabriel Hauche scored to the left of an out of position Nguyễn Quang, making the score, 0-6. Nguyễn Quang made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Bernardinho do Vale sent off a good shot on target. Isaias Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, U21 Vietnam's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Hauche came free, but Nguyễn Quang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Quang stood somewhat misplaced when Gabriel Hauche came free in front of goal and shot 0-7 to the left of him in the 89 minute. Nguyễn Teo hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Javi Pinola took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nguyễn Quang. U21 Vietnam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bernardinho do Vale came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nguyễn Quang could save by the left post.
