Leon Sport Club were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after DeportivoIndependienteMDP's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Francisco Vidal took the corner. When Valdo Prado came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Leon Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Prado couldn't finish the play. The DeportivoIndependienteMDP fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when DeportivoIndependienteMDP's Esquipula Bouzon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Anastasio Eguerdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Loarte in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of DeportivoIndependienteMDP booed when Leon Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Urbasa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erasmo Urbez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esquipula Bouzon in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's João Francisco Vidal got a free kick in the 34th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, David Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's supporters rose to their feet, but David Osorio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erasmo Urbez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Bernardino Abel put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of DeportivoIndependienteMDP:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leon Sport Club:s goal. DeportivoIndependienteMDP:s Anastasio Eguerdi showed great skill when he stopped João Francisco Vidal:s penalty. 39 minutes into the match, João Francisco Vidal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anastasio Eguerdi. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Francisco Vidal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 43rd minute of the match Leon Sport Club got a corner. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Francisco Vidal ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marcel Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Ramos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Hajto in the 47th minute of play forced DeportivoIndependienteMDP's goalkeeper Anastasio Eguerdi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jon Loarte to make the kick off. Anastasio Eguerdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Hajto in the 52nd minute of play. Anastasio Eguerdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Hajto, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Leon Sport Club's Alfred Hajto got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Sport Club made a substitution. Giovanni Massa replaced Alfred Hajto. If Giovanni Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Giovanni Massa sped through DeportivoIndependienteMDP's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anastasio Eguerdi. After having played for 80 minutes, David Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Osorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Osorio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Marino scored 2-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erasmo Urbez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anastasio Eguerdi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jon Loarte in the 86th minute of the match. Giovanni Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Anastasio Eguerdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anastasio Eguerdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Loarte in the 94th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
