The referee ignored Triez's protests and gave Matheo Giraudon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Triez's Matheo Giraudon got a free kick in the 5th minute. David Tupihin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Macieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. David Tupihin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matheo Giraudon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Macieira in the 13th minute of play forced U21 Kazakhstan's goalkeeper David Tupihin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U21 Kazakhstan fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when U21 Kazakhstan's Stanislav Korzhuev looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 25th minute Stanislav Korzhuev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathis Basque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Stanislav Korzhuev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathis Basque was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Éluard Péron helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Triez getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Éluard Péron hit a great ball. A hard shot 47 in the game by Stanislav Korzhuev from a close distance when the talented Mathis Basque managed to make a qualified save. Triez's players were relieved. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nikolay Zazulin in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathis Basque prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The goalkeeper, David Tupihin, was totally fooled by Triez's Patrice Galliano, who 91 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
