Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Willie Colon in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Prior prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar De León, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willie Colon in the 35th minute of play. Claude Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Prior. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claude Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. Angelo Prior didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Willie Colon went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 44th minute, MILLONARIOS FC's Christoffer Blomqvist dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christoffer Blomqvist was the one to do the kick off. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar De León in the 53rd minute of play. Christoffer Blomqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After having played for 59 minutes, Christoffer Blomqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MILLONARIOS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christoffer Blomqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claude Sena got free with Angelo Prior in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Celio Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Municipal's protests and gave Celio Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. MILLONARIOS FC's Juan Corredor was substituted for Christoffer Blomqvist. Angelo Prior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Sena in the 84th minute of the match. Chuan Cintron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jozef Kloots, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Héctor Lavø charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Héctor Lavø the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
